Cancer Types and Cancer Treatment Options
Cancer is the generic term for a group of diseases caused by uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells, which invade and spread to other parts of the body. There are many various kinds of cancer with their treatment modalities. The following lines show most of the common ones and their modes of treatment:
Hyperpigmentation |Melasma | Dark Spots | Acne Marks
1. Breast Cancer
Types: Ductal carcinoma in situ, Invasive ductal carcinoma, Invasive lobular carcinoma.
Treatment: includes surgery (lumpectomy or mastectomy), radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormone therapy (tamoxifen, etc.), targeted therapy, and HER2 inhibitors and immunotherapy.
2. Lung Cancer

Types: NSCLC and SCLC
Treatment: Surgery, Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy, Targeted therapy, and Immunotherapy; in some cases, all these above-mentioned modalities are used in combination with one another.
3. Prostate Cancer

Types: Localized, Locally Advanced, and Metastatic prostate cancer.
Treatment: Surgery, radiotherapy, hormone therapy—of which androgen deprivation therapy is one—and chemotherapy, targeted therapy.
4. Colorectal Cancer

Types: Colon cancer, rectal cancer
Treatment: Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy
5. Leukemia
Types: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, chronic myeloid leukemia
Treatment: Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, stem cell transplant
6. Lymphoma

Types: Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL).
Treatment: Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, for example, CAR-T cell therapy, and stem cell transplant.
7. Ovarian Cancer

Types: Epithelial ovarian cancer, germ cell tumors, and sex-cord stromal tumors.
Treatment: Surgery to remove the ovaries and/or the uterus, chemotherapy, and in some cases, targeted therapy and radiation therapy.
8. Pancreatic Cancer
Types: Exocrine tumors, like pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, and endocrine tumors.
Treatment: Surgery, for example, the Whipple procedure, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, target therapy—for instance, certain specific mutations—inhibitors, and sometimes immunotherapy.
9. Melanoma
Types: Superficial spreading melanoma, nodular melanoma, lentigo maligna melanoma, and acral lentiginous melanoma.
Treatment: Surgery, Immunotherapy—for instance, checkpoint inhibitors, targeted therapy—for instance, BRAF inhibitors—and sometimes radiation therapy.
10. Kidney Cancer
Types: Renal cell carcinoma and transitional cell carcinoma.
Treatment: Nephrectomy, targeted therapy—for instance, VEGF inhibitors, immunotherapy, and sometimes radiotherapy.

surgery: which is often used to remove tumors or cancerous tissues; radiation therapy, a process that makes use of high-energy radiations in an aim to target and kill all cancerous cells; chemotherapy, a mode of treatment that involves the use of different pharmaceutical drugs to kill or slow down the growth process of these cells; hormone therapy, which blocks or removes hormones that feed certain cancers, like breast and prostate cancers; targeted therapy, which targets specific molecules that take part in the growth and progress of cancers; and immunotherapy, which acts as a booster of the body’s immune system in helping fight cancer.
Stem Cell Transplant: Repairing or replacing damaged bone marrow with healthy stem cells.
Many times, treatment plans are tailored to each individual patient, taking into account things like type and stage of the cancer, genetic mutations, and other health factors. It is very critical to maintain a close link with one’s healthcare team in order to find the appropriate strategy for treatment.
